Paul's secret garden
Paul Wainamo, singer and restaurant manager, has designed a delightful wee garden by his cottage, nestled behind the Glenn House in Long Beach. Within a wooden gate, his collection of containers, arbours, perennials, and tchatzkes provide a setting for the perfectly prepared lattes that he will make for his guests. Seated on the patio with Paul and his canine friend Peaches, we are transported to an old-fashioned peaceful world.
Within a small space, Paul's genius for design enables him to have flowers, a lawn, his dream fountain, a pond, a birdbath, pots, a patio, a chiminea, two seating areas ... somehow without seeming crowded or cluttered. His gardening influence extends to the Sanctuary Restaurant with its own angel fountain and mixed flower border.
